Some things you just can’t imagine or make up… and if I didn’t see it with my own eyes, I’m not sure I’d believe it. Today at Starbucks one of those things happened. A guy walked in wearing a hoodie. I probably wouldn’t have paid any attention to him other than I could smell alcohol which made my glance around the store. As I looked up, I noticed this young man (maybe around 30 and decently dressed) was in the process of closing a bottle of Bacardi Rum. My eyebrow immediately went up. I then noticed he also had a ziplock bag with ice in it. The Bacardi went into the pocket of his hoodie.

He made his way up to the register where he ordered… a cup of milk. Milk acquired, it was then poured into ziplock bag of ice. This was then mixed with the Bacardi. The next stop was the condiment bar of course, where multiple bags of sugar were added into the concoction. There must have been something else he added as well. Once he had enough sugar to make him happy, he zipped the bag and squished it to mix it all together. Then it was time to return to the register. Once again the bottle was back in the sweatshirt.

Once again at the register, he asked how much something was. I couldn’t quite catch what he asked. The response was over $5 and clearly not to his liking. Seconds later he was walking out the front door and off to his next destination.

This entire adventure at Starbucks took less than three minutes but was INCREDIBLE! I have so many questions that I know will never be answered. This is why I love coming to Starbucks, people are so fascinating and their stories are so entertaining!

On to the next adventure!
